Re - difference between reading in library and copying it for later reading:

Same problem(s) as USING the diskette your friend bought and the
program(s) on it vs. COPYING the diskette for yourself.

1. You have removed the control on the resource
2. The logical extension would be to set up your own distributing system.

The publisher and copyright owner shell out $$ just to get the
production going. If you can save some of those costs (by working from
an already-produced copy), you are no better than the makers of Orange
and Pineapple - not paying Apple's R&D costs.

Supply and demand still works in the marketplace.
