Since all they have is file transfer, they transfer a file with the SMTP commands and then get one back with the replies. Solomon from UWISC mentioned it at the gateway meeting. It comes to mind that it was Alan Crosswell from Columbia (EACUS@CUVMB on bitnet) who wrote it. -Ron
