Looking for an alternative, I went to the local medical school library and found a paper had been written describing 20 candidates for this surgery who had taken B6 and no longer needed surgery. Actually, 16 of the 20 were sufficiently improved to no longer require surgery. I tried the recommended dose for 3 months and my doctor said I no longer needed the surgery. My symtoms almost entirely disappeared. I've forgotten the dosage, but I'm sure the paper still is medical school archives, probably throughout the U.S. Just look up carpal tunnel syndrome.
