I have the Epson version. In that time I have inked about 35 ribbons. Only one very cheap ribbon failed to work properly. I was able to jerry-rig it to get it inked. I keep the head pressure on the printer set to minimum, and re-ink often. This minimizes wear on printer and ribbon. I keep 4 ribbons around and rotate them. It takes about a half hour to ink a ribbon. The process is a little messy. Joel Swank Tektronix, Beaverton OR
