Lines: 11 All the "tuner cleaner" sprays I have tried leave a film that indeed collects dust and dirt and makes the component fail again a few weeks later. Recently I got (from a friend) a can of flourocarbon-based residue-free stuff. It really does the job on noisy potentiometers, and does *not* seem to leave a residue (though the can clearly states that it **will** mess up the ozone layer! Really!). One might try using some of this stuff on a critical application like a disk drive lead screw. Note - I have *not* as yet tried it in this application! Send me mail if you want me to lookup the brand name of the stuff. -- Ben Cranston ...seismo!umcp-cs!zben zben@umd2.ARPA
