When the processes terminate they need a way to restore the user's screen. Unlike Mince, Pefect Writer, and other editors Wordstar doesn't seem to have a command that will completely redraw its image of the screen. Its screen commands - scroll up/down, etc - appear to modify the screen coordinates only if its image says the character there isn't the same as the character that 'should' be there. Since the background message may use some of the blank area, WS thinks it is still blank, doesn't clear it, and the result is a collage of the wordstar screen and the background message. WS gurus: Is there a patch & command that will force a full-screen redisplay? Could one be developed & what would be needed? --bridger
