The terminal I use happens to obey the NAPLPS codes for alternate character sets. Halfway through the "Subject:" of your article, it goes all Cyrillic (sp?) and/or Greek on me ( or "set G2" or something), AND STAYS THAT WAY!. <> ...and until your article expires, everytime I see the index page for this group my terminal will go funny, WHICH IS EVERY TIME I READ THE GROUP! It is not fun to have to carefully advance to the next article or group, drop into a shell, type "tset", and pray that there were no fatal typos, all while typing blind. (I am not a touch typist.) Should I just give up for two weeks? Everyone should realize that there are NO control characters except newline and tab (NOT EVEN FORM-FEED! which clears my screen) that are universally safe to use. <> Thank you.
