Message-ID: <723@houxf.UUCP> Date: Wed, 30-May-84 21:56:19 EDT Article-I.D.: houxf.723 Posted: Wed May 30 21:56:19 1984 Date-Received: Sat, 2-Jun-84 08:07:52 EDT Organization: AT&T Bell Labs, Holmdel NJ Lines: 13 We recently bought a few boxes of Maxell double sided double density floppies and found a few bad sectors on several of them when formatted under PC-DOS. Is this to be expected? Does this indicate anything about the rest of the diskette (e.g., is it likely to develop more bad sectors after being used)? Do manufacturers and/or retailers make any sort of guarantees about the diskettes at least as far as being OK when the box is opened? Danny Sykora AT&T Bell Labs (Holmdel) (201)949-7358 houxf!micom
