If you're getting 100+ mph winds, I wouldn't worry about sand, I'd worry about tree branches, pedestrians, etc. We had ~70 mph winds yesterday, they blew over some nice heavy "permit parking only" signs in the parking lot. Gee, I'm glad I don't have a permit to park in those spots! Felt sorry for the poor kids out in the driver's training cars.
