  I would like to point out one thing, briefly: not everyone who reads and 
enjoys this group is homo- or bi-sexual. There are many other reasons to be
interested in gay issues besides being gay yourself. Since gays (I believe)
represent a significant minority, they can have a significant effect on
society as a whole. There are even personal reasons why a non-gay could
be interested in gay issues, such as having a friend or relative who is gay.
