Jamie Lee Curtis finds a stack of letters in her [dead] mother's drawers:
her mom had an affair several years back. The "love letters" are from the
"other man", and Curtis starts reading them.

She then meets a married man and promptly has an affair with him. When she
begins comparing her affair to her mother's, she sees that the only difference
is that she is the "other woman" now. 

I won't go any further. This is a very good movie that presents several sides
to a story at the same time.
