Even with modern chemistry film fades. Even if you store it in darkness at the proper temperature and humidity it fades. Archivists are very concerned about this and companies like Kodak are working on the problem, but if you want film to last, then it has to be in black and white. Wait, I take that last statement back. Magnetic storing and digital storage in general will last as well. -Marty Sasaki
