The first film wasn't that successful, and Rankin/Bass did a version of THE RETURN OF THE KING for tv a number of years ago. (2) Jeff: If Samantha in SIXTEEN CANDLES is the lead female character (I haven't seen the flick yet), then she's played by Molly Ringwald, and I agree that she's very talented. She virtually single-handed made SPACEHUNTER bearable to watch (I love cute, spunky teenage girls as characters. She also did a commendable job in Mazursky's TEMPEST. (3) Rick: I agree that the Tangerine Dream soundtrack was too light for FIRESTARTER, but I rather liked it in THE KEEP --- the mood of the music fit the mood of the film. I think that Jerry Goldsmith or Miklos Rosza would have been just right for FIRESTARTER. --- jayembee (Jerry Boyajian, DEC Maynard, MA) UUCP: {decvax|ihnp4|allegra|ucbvax|...}!decwrl!dec-rhea!dec-akov68!boyajian ARPA: boyajian%akov68.DEC@DECWRL.ARPA
