Look up Varese in any encyclopedia. Better yet, get the Columbia Masterworks album of Varese and listen to Poeme Electronique or Ionisization. You would never know it was recorded in 1959 (Poeme Electronique is on the album as Varese recorded it in 1936, I believe).
