The group plays every style from rockabilly to heavy metal... You name it they do it. The vocalist is excellent. The guitarist is fast, clean, and tasteful. The drummer keeps time and never overplays. The keyboards are more beautiful than early Genesis. The backup singers have more soul than Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin combined. The saxaphonist/flautist makes Ian Anderson sound like a tuba player. And boy, can their producer produce. They are a pure joy to hear. But what I want to know is, if these guys are so good .... why do their records stink?? Their records stink because they don't play with feeling. They only record in a sterile studio environment. They never sing out of tune or hit a wrong note. There's never any hiss or hum. They let every successful artist in the business influence them. Their songs always get a bullit on Billboard's charts. They could care less about political causes. All they care about is making a better wage and supporting their families. They were a much better group when they were starving and still learning to play their instruments. Somewhere along the line they lost their honesty. They sold out. They are no longer true musicians. No way am I going buy their records and contribute to their success until they contribute to mine. Anybody else out there feel the same about this group ??
