In the same vein, I have often wanted to say, when asked about my
(very definite) musical preferences, "Oh, I hate music." Except people
might start whispering behind my back while fixing me with pitying stares.

I've been anticipated, though. Supposedly Jimmy Durante said,

  "I hate music. Especially when it's played."
