I just thought I'd be the first to ask. I would appreciate a (short) list of the best recordings for introducing someone to classical music. I would appreciate it if the list was kept to <10 items. This isn't necessarily easy since the pieces must be sufficiently attractive to a neophyte to grab and hold their interest. Beethoven's Choral and his Emperor Concerto are good starts (recognizable and "classy"). I am willing to summarize if there are enough responses. -- Stephen Perelgut Computer Systems Research Group University of Toronto Usenet: {linus, ihnp4, allegra, decvax, floyd}!utcsrgv!perelgut CSNET: perelgut@Toronto
