Um. music is sounds and philosophy is ideas. of course they're not
entirely separate - don't try to read between my lines so much - but
obviously the emphasis in the two fields is very different. By the way,
I don't need any theory - or theory of appreciation, whatever that is -
to enjoy music. Appreciation of beauty is an immediate and often
non-intellectual process.

Tom, was the purpose of your article to trap me into philosophizing?
