I cast a vote in favor of a general dance newgroup.  From personal
preference I would rather see it geared to pattern dancing; e.g.,
Squares, contras, morris, but any newgroup devoted to the discussion
of various forms of dance would find favor.  

It would be pleasant to share new dances learned, problems with
new dancers and with those who show up every week but never gain
life in their dancing, shifting lines, etc. 

The Bay Area has an active dance community for Morris, country, contra,
and Irish.  Most of the dances held have live music and all the
dances are taught.
