Loose animals get into garbage, tease the pets in your yard, scare motorists to death by running out in front of them, especially at night (this is really dangerous if your first instinct is to swerve to avoid them), and in the case of cats - sometimes hide in your car's engine area. I sometimes feel bad that my cats aren't allowed to run free, but there are *a lot* of people who dislike pets, especially cats, and I haven't the right to force my pets company on them!
