I am currently about to post an explanation.  Looking up "Tipler" will
lead you to a lot of articles, many irrelevant (Frank J. Tipler is a
prolific mathematician/relativist) and the relevant ones are very
mathematical.  If you understand the topology of relativity, go ahead !
