I have a question about this statement that I am positive will come across as very naive to some people, but I am young (if that makes any difference) and I have never understood the reasoning behind the statement given by Vladimir Lanin. My question is *why* has there always been (or seems to me to always have been, at least as long as I have been alive) such hate and prejudice directed at people of the Jewish religion or faith or whatever it is referred to as? I can't think of any reason behind the hate, etc. Is it something like the persecution that the Christians went through at the hands of the Romans? Maybe I should read some books on this, but I did want to pose the question to the net to maybe get some answers from people who are Jewish and could give me some first hand information about it. I am not Jewish and I have never understood the prejudice against Jewish people, or black people or any people for that matter. The only group of people that I guess I really don't like or can even compare prejudice to *maybe*, is these dumb cab drivers in this city! I swear, every day I drive in this city, I take my life in my hands. We are talking about idiotic cab drivers who make left hand turns from the right lane and NEVER use a turn signal! Ha-ha, just thought I would lighten it up a bit... Thank you to anyone who cares to post or mail an answer to my question. Marie Carey ...seismo!carey
