I was absolutely delighted to read the recent posting to this newsgroup -
I've subscribed to it for months and haven't gotten anything until 
yesterday.  
      I have been avidly watching a pair of ruby-throated hummingbirds
who have been visiting our flowering quince.  It won't be long and the
quince flowers will be gone....besides putting out one of those hummingbird
feeders, how can we encourage these birds to stay and nest in the area?
Are there some annuals we can plant in our flower garden?
