I don't know if it has a name, but the description is as follows: When opponent opens 1 No Trump, a 2 level suit call in the *direct* position requests partner to bid the next higher suit. It's sort of a defensive Jacoby Transfer. This convention has the advantage of placing the lead in the hand with the strength. When the opponents are using Lebensohl in defense of overcalls of a 1 No Trump opener, they usually haven't agreed yet as to whether Lebensohl responses are for the transfer suit or the called suit. Any discussion on the merits/disadvantages of this convention?
