A little depressing, perhaps, in the long run, but more thoughtful than most fantasy. If Max von Sydow were twenty years younger, he would be perfect for the lead, but since he isn't, how about David Bowie, who is very good at giving an impression of a tall, thin, pale outsider. Ridley Scott would be a good choice to direct, as he has a superb visual sense tending towards the moody and dark. If he's not available, his brother Tony is an acceptable second choice. His first film, "The Hunger", deals with those who somewhat reluctantly are forced to live off of others, a theme which has some parallels in Moorcock's books. Peter Reiher
