[SPAFFORD] There's another similar and equally big problem that's really just the opposite: not "viewing everybody in sight as a candidate", but rather having a picture in advance of who would be a "viable" candidate, and being stuck with that picture. It's one thing to be "selective" about choosing an SO, but looking by pre-determining the selection criteria can be as counterproductive as "trying too hard".
