There has been lots of discussion here about "the best" relationships
coming from friendships, how one-night stands are completely unsatisfying,
how love makes the world go round, etc.  How about a counter-point?

Do any of you out there go out every weekend to bars and pick up people?
I've been hearing nothing but pro-long-term-relation stuff here, and some 
of the real world is quite opposite.  We have our meat-market shoppers here
at UCSD, I've met a few of them; they seem quite normal.  I haven't seen any 
anywhere on the net, though.  Is it that the bar-shoppers have better things
to do than comment in net.singles, or is it that there JUST aren't any out
there!!  C'mon!  There has to be at least a few good-looking computer people
that succumbed to the temptations of the fast lane!

I want to start a discussion of experiences and such.  I've been hearing
all the pros of a long-term relationship, but nothing's been said on one-
night stands.  It's hard to analize when one doesn't know the other side.

I'm totally open to any comments, observations, etc.  (Please keep them
somewhat friendly tho!!)
