In my experience, drinking does not drown one's sorrows; it merely irrigates
them a little.	None of the situation I described would have been possible
without some heavy-duty opening of my dark emotions to God so He could heal
the wounds of my past and enable me to live more abundantly in the present.

With this part I agree...but it's easier said than done; unlike you, I've not
so far had an SO, so it's difficult to lighten up.  This is actually one
advantage to having an "embarrassment of riches":  I'm not zeroing in on one
woman with "heavy-duty intentions".  And as to planning in advance:  That is
also hard to avoid, since I have a very analytical mind; after all, I am a
programmer! 1/2 :-)
