None of the situation I described would have been possible without some heavy-duty opening of my dark emotions to God so He could heal the wounds of my past and enable me to live more abundantly in the present. How do you *know* that it isn't possible? Did you try? Other people *have* managed to overcome unpleasant pasts without believing that a God was helping them.
