I guess most of us in the computer field have tendencies to behave "digitally" (i.e.very fast "1", or very slow "0") in large social groups (singles bars). Secondly, our egos do not allow us to accept one-night-stands as gracefully as you seem to suggest or for that matter, as realistically. Recently, I did go "hunting" and did pick up a very fast woman (a journalist) and we both knew that it was going to be a one-night-stand ! But, strangely enough, I started feeling differently afterward (well, that was my first one-night-stand !) and so called her to be friendly and all. Her reaction surprised the hell out of me ! She said that I am too sophisticated, too much of a computer-type and too intense !! And I have had this complaint of being too intense from many women. What confuses me is that I am too intense, but not fast enough to be accepted in the fast lane. My general feeling is that there are certain social stigmas attached to being a particular type of person and it is very hard to pretend to be someone other than the stereo- type ! So much for trying to be in the fast lane ......... HA !! Nagesh ...!decvax!genrad!wjh12!foxvax1!arn
