I too have noticed that most of the group submissions come from men. Being over the hill chronologically, I have been involved in a few relationships where vacillation seemed to be the predominant character- istic of the MOTOS. My conclusion has been that control, not involve- ment, was the prime motivation in those cases. By never taking a stand and sticking by it the MOTOS left all the commitment to me, and there- fore also all the risk & vulnerability. By and large, this is a no- win situation for the person left trying to, first, create some stabil- ity & commitment, and, later, trying to salvage some self-respect after having run themselves ragged attempting to please the MOTOS. So, my advice is: do yourself a favor & find someone equally willing to put themselves out on a limb for you, as you are for them.
