The problem with being/meeting a KOTOS (gee, can I coin an acronym too? :-) ) is that there is a reasonably high probability that the attraction will be either (a) non-mutual or (b) fleeting. This goes with the territory, so to speak; unfortunately a lot of folks don't seem to realize this. Restatement of the problem: if you play for one-night stands, be prepared to get just that; no long-term affection, no deep support, and a lot of letdowns on the way to That Big Night. On the other hand, if you're playing to be the other half of the one-night stand, be ready for exactly the same thing, with an additional caveat that you'll probably wake up alone. Oh, yes, just because someone is eye-poppingly attractive, don't automatically peg them as super-lover; it doesn't necessarily work that way. I'm not saying this is bad; in spite of all the drawbacks, for some people at some times, it's just what they need. The difficulty lies in deciding who and when; and then in being honest enough and strong enough to handle the possible emotional wrench. All together now: "I need a lover who won't drive me crazy, Someone to thrill me and then go away..." -- Rsk the Wombat UUCP: { allegra, decvax, ihnp4, harpo, teklabs, ucbvax } !pur-ee!rsk { cornell, eagle, hplabs, ittvax, lanl-a, ncrday } !purdue!rsk
