For a nice gift for your mom and her new husband, how about tickets
to a popular play or a ballet in your area?  Another thought is to
buy a gift certificate for a nice restaurant.  Are they interested
in sports?  Maybe some tennis rackets and matching sportswear.

Use your imagination and do some research into their likes and
dislikes.  You can come up with all sorts of clever gifts that are
anything but ordinary.

. . . a picnic basket filled with nice wine and a couple of crystal
glasses, cheese, fancy napkins . . . a box of assorted wines from
other countries . . . a photograph framed well of your family (the
siblings or you, your wife and children . . . send a plant every
month for a year (maybe on the day that they were wed, i.e., June 4,
July 4, August 4) . . . gourmet food or gift certificates to a
gourmet food store . . .
