Because this would have been the third out the Cubs were obligated to either tag Parker or Throw down to first before he got there. With less than two out and first base occupied Parker would of course automaticly been out. But of course their were two out at this time. While WGN was running the commercial Parker started to trot out towards the outfield unto the Red's manager (Vern Rapp) yelled at him to stand on first base. This of course is what he did and since the Cubs failed to make a play on him he was declared safe at first. Therefore instead of the end of the inning the situation changed to runners on first and second and only two outs.
