We have 2MB on a 750 running 4.2bsd with 4-7 users. We page very little, if at all. Note that this is mostly editing (ted, which run 280K plus) and FORTRAN compiles. When some of the messy code starts running, we start paging. That's why we run 4.2 instead of Vr2.
