Lines: 25 I was surprised to discover that a number of people have found my printer spooler (posted a month or two ago to net.sources, along with Versatec plot library code) to be useful. Anyway, this is to announce that some modifications are available, as follows: - New keyword in /etc/spool_devices, ``setup'', allows an initialization program to be run on the device. I added this after we got a serial line printer in, and I needed to initialize the baud rate. A line of the form setup "stty new 9600 -nl decctlq mdmbuf" did the trick in this case (along with a Printronix underline code conversion program for text files, executed as the default despool program). - ``spoolq'', to examine spooler queues (and restart despooler daemon in case it has mysteriously died) (No ``spoolrm'' program yet, but I installed some stuff to get a bit closer to having one.) -- In-Real-Life: Chris Torek, Univ of MD Comp Sci (301) 454-7690 UUCP: {seismo,allegra,brl-bmd}!umcp-cs!chris CSNet: chris@umcp-cs ARPA: chris@maryland
