They want to run the Writer's Workbench software, preferably on the 11/44. The problem is that AT&T requires at least a System III license before they will sell the WWB software, and S/III as delivered does not support RM02's (or at least that's what they told the college). Question #1: Assuming the college gets a S/III license, does anyone have an RM02 driver to give to them? Could you configure a bootable tape image to help them get going? Question #2: Is the S/III requirement based on any facilities in S/III that are not in V7? If not, would it be reasonable for the college to get a V7 license AND an S/III license AND a WWB license? In this case, we (at RIT) could get them going on V7, after which they could install WWB on the V7 base. Question #3: As a last resort, are any of the commercially available UNIX environments for VMS (EUNICE, UNITY, etc.) also S/III compatible? Is it reasonable to run WWB on such a setup? Note: it is infeasible for the college to run UNIX directly on the Vax, as they run CAD/CAM software under VMS. Thanks for any help. -- Mike Lutz Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester NY UUCP: {allegra, seismo}!rochester!ritcv!mjl ARPA: ritcv!mjl@Rochester.ARPA
