I have a problem for which I am sure someone will have a good answer. I just bought a new car (VW GTI), and I'd like to put in a stereo/cassette. I live in a high crime area so I want no visible indications of my stereo. My idea is to install 4 speakers and a power amp in the car, the amp would be under the dash. The music signal would come from a high-quality walkman type portable cassette deck. I would be plugging the walkman into the power amp. ---------------------- Now for the questions: Will this work? What kind of spec's will the walkman need on output so the power amp gets a good signal? Will I be getting lots of noise (bad signal/noise ratio)? ---------------------- Anyone who can give advice or point me to people who can give advice about this should contact me by *mail*. Also, if anyone can recommend any good stereo shops (BAY AREA) where the sales people really know the equipment please send them. NOTE: Limit stereo shop recommendations to San Francisco Bay Area. If things get interesting, I will post a summary to the net. Thank You, Charlie Tierney -------------------------------------------------------------- { cbosgd harpo hpda ihnp4 } !fortune!tierney DEC { decvax !decwrl !amd } !fortune!tierney Berkeley { ucbvax !amd } !fortune!tierney
