I don't know how long ago, perhaps 1 1/2 years ago ~FEB '83, High Fidelity
had an article which is exactly what you want.  It discuss basically:
    1) get two sheets of glass
    2) cleaning (excruciatingly) the glass and the record
    3) making a sandwich and using the oven at some LOW temp.

    The exact details would have to be found in the article.
