That is close to the price of an earlier version, which has presumably been replaced by the Dragon-CT. I think the list price for the Dragon-CT is about $1450, and I have seen it offered for sale for about $1200. Either that, or the list price is about $1200 and I've seen it for about $1000. I forget which. Either way, the price is competitive with the Linn Sondek LP12, for instance, and I'm quite sure that, unlike the LP12, I WOULD be able to hear the difference between a Dragon and anything else.
