Rather, they use a dynamic tweeter in which the element is accordion-pleated to provide a better impedance match to the surrounding air than might otherwise be obtained. I heard a pair of AMT-1 (not 1D) speakers a number of years ago, and they sounded somewhat muddy, but the -1D may be different, and, anyway, chacun a son gout.
