Some more thoughts on selection criteria: 1. Do non-AT&T carriers provide clear transmission ? 2. Do non-AT&T carriers charge for misdials and wrong numbers ? 3. Do non-AT&T carriers charge for connects even though called parties weren't home ? 4. Do non-AT&T carriers charge with low granularity ? I.E.: you've just completed a call that lasted 3.546 minutes. Do you get charged for 3.546 minutes, or for 3.55 minutes, or for 3.60 minutes or 4 minutes ? It adds up fast.
