We've just bought a house with 6 rooms of wall-to-wall carpet,
and find our little 8-year-old no-name canister vacuum cleaner
isn't up to the job - we end up pulling stuff out of the carpet 
by hand and feeding it to the vac.   We want to buy (soon!!)
one that can cope with the carpets, and we know nothing about
vacuum cleaners.   What kinds work well with carpet?
Which "features" are worth paying $$ for, and which are junk?
Are there brands that are really good (or terrible)?
What's a reasonable price?
