Berkeley Lines: 13 If you're really interested in minimizing the amount of work wasted in changing the state of the toilet seat, how about an extremely sensible suggestion: After you finish with it, just leave it in whatever state you put it in while you used it. If you used it standing, leave the seat up. If you used it sitting, leave it down. You save two moves every time you have two consecutive uses in the non-default position.
