I assumed, incorrectly, that it was better not to name names. I was badly mistaken. Many people at UCSD assumed that I meant Dave Pare, and I received quite a few messages requesting that I clarify myself. I have never send a tape to Dave Pare and thus he has never failed to return a tape. He was *not* the subject of my comment. He was quite polite about it, far more so than I might have been in his shoes. The subject of my comment was ALSO very polite in his letter describing the events on his end. Again, probably more polite than I would have been. In fact, the people at UCSD have been quite patient and understanding, my thanks and sincere appologies to those involved. -- David C.
