[You swing and miss the Bug]

No!  The Rogue's Vade-Mecum says you can cancel most monsters, but NOT
Mimics (or Xerocs).  Missiles bounce right off, too.  As with the famous
"Dormant Rockadillo," the only way to identify one is to pick it up and
see if it bites you.
