The machine crashed just as the floor was being generated. The crash was soft though, and the game was saved. I returned the next day and started out on the new floor. Three hours later, all the stationary monsters dead, all nine rooms found, (no mazes) I starved to death. The crash is the only reason I could think of for the problem. In short, no. If you don't have stairs somewhere, then as far as I know It's a bug. Brian Atkins UUCP - {allegra|ucbvax}!nbires!atkins USPS - NBI, Inc. 3450 Mitchell Lane P.O. Box 9001 Boulder, CO 80301 ps. did you have any mazes? If so sometimes the stairs are well hidded. Take a close look at the borders of mazes, and the density within that border. I think you can then make some conclusions about if you have found all there is to find in a maze or not.
