In Pittsfield, MA, you can omit the first two digits of the exchange, ie. dial 2-nnnn instead of 442-nnnn. (Apparantly this was a concession to public uproar over being forced to dial two extra digits when All-Digit Dialing was instituted 20 years ago.)
