Washington, Computer Sci Lines: 21 Mattel did indeed stop manufacturing Intellivision. I heard (from Electronic Games magazine) that they sold the rights to a (I presume) new company called Intellivision Inc., or some such. The deal you saw could still be a closeout from Mattel, though, as it hasn't been that long since Mattel quit. If you are still considering getting one, my recommendation to you is don't bother, as if you want just a video game, the Atari and Commodo computers are quite cheap (especially at such places as Toys 'R' Us) and have a growing (and in most cases far higher quality) selection of game software. If your mind is set, however, you could buy my old Intellivision I, in great condition, with voice synthesizer and 19 or so cartridges (hint, hint). Make me an offer.
