			Current Opening! (July, 1984)

	Hewlett Packard Research Laboratories in Palo Alto has  immediate
	openings  for  computer  professionals  interested  in building a
	large distribute operating system.

	We are implementing a local network based  distributed  operating
	system  aimed  at providing a highly reliable and transparent en-
	vironment to users of distributed workstations  and  servers.  We
	are  basing the implementation on distributed transaction and ob-
	ject concepts and will provide necessary system support  to  dis-
	tributed database and shared resource management.

	We have immediate openings in the areas of distributed OS,  tran-
	saction  management,  network  management,  and DBMS. Knowlege of
	Unix internals (Unix is a trademark  of  Bell  Laboratories)  and
	minimal  two  years  of  design/implementation experience are re-
	quired. Potential candidates should have a MS/PhD degree  in  CS,
